State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is one of the largest oil companies in the world. SOCAR is expanding worldwide. It has already established subsidiaries in several countries. In November 2006 SOCAR established own Representation in Georgia.

On December 7, 8 and 9 Muslims celebrated the Kurban Bayram holiday all around the world. In connection with this holiday the deputy of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic, Head of the Commission of relationships between Georgian and Azerbaijan parliaments, Mrs. Ganira Pashayeva, arrived in Georgia.

The Ministry of Culture of Georgia managed international festival of national dancing. A little girl, Aygun Gasanova became the winner in nomination - "Yellow Bride" (Sari Galin). She is a member of the dancing ensemble "Sarvan" headed by Mrs. Jamila Mamedova. The "SOCAR Representation in Georgia" presented a mobile phone to the little winner.
02.12.08From January to November 2008, Azerbaijan exported more than 1 million tons of oil products
According to the press service of SOCAR from January to November 2008 Department of Marketing and Economic Operations of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic exported 33.114 tons of gasoline, 133.669 tons of diesel fuel, 15.223 tons of aviation fuel and 85.934 tons of crude oil.
28.11.08The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic begins providing of Kakheti villages with natural gas
Currently more than 100 villages of Kakheti region are provided with natural gas. According to Kakheti regional administration the problem is caused by the outmoded gas pipelines. "Gurjaani-gaz", "Signagi-gaz", "Lagodekhi-gaz" and other companies, providing the region with natural gas, were transferred in the possession of "SOCAR". However delivery-reception of the possession has not occurred yet. According to the deputy governor, Mr. George Sibashvili, since january 2009 "SOCAR" will begin gasification of villages in Kakheti region.
25.11.08Kulevi Oil Terminal (Black Sea Terminal) was granted with International Certificate of Moody International
As the press service of Kulevi Oil Terminal informs, despite the fact that it is only 6 months that the unit functions, its management works successfully. It is proved by receiving of mentioned certificate. Kulevi Oil Terminal passed certification in the following standards: ISO 9001 (Production Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Ecological Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Personnel Security Management System).
14.11.08Memorandum about providing Georgia with natural gas covers 5 years
The President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev said to the journalists that the memorandum implies importing of 892 millions cube meters of Azerbaijan gas during 5 years. According to him this contract may be prolonged.

The Representation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic in Georgia pays tuition and accomodation fees for K. Mamedov who has arrived from region. He studies at Demirel private college in Tbilisi. The annual tuition fee is 1400 GEL.
19.10.08The Representation of SOCAR in Georgia financed the road and school reconstruction works
The Representation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic in Georgia financed reconstruction of 2500 meter long road and secondary school in village Talaver. Reconstruction works were led by Regional Manager of Representation, Mr. Arif Aliev. SOCAR Representation in Georgia allocated 150.000 GEL for the abovementioned works.

SOCAR Representation in Georgia financed tuition fees for talented students: N. Ojagverdiyev (for one year) - 3000 GEL, R. Alizade (for one year) - 4500 GEL and T. Topchiyev (for two semester) - 1250 GEL.
12.09.08The Representation of SOCAR financed M.Aliogli's visit to the United States of America
A lot of talented students live in Georgia. One of them, M.Aliogli went to the United States of America to continue working on the thesis that was preparing while she worked at the Department of Political Relations of Decolonization Union. Representation of SOCAR in Georgia financed her visit.
